In 1985, Rock River Thresheree became the home of the Harry Schell sawmill, previously owned by Fred Schell and son, Harry Schell, of Blue River, Wisconsin. The sawmill building on our grounds is an exact replica of the building the Schell family housed the sawmill in for two generations.

The mill was manufactured by Enterprise and is completely original with no hydraulics. It is driven by either a steam engine or our 90hp Waukesha gas engine.

Also in the sawmill building are our Howell planer, cut-off saw, overhead roller line and sawdust drive. The sawmill runs every day during the Rock River Thresheree Reunion on Labor Day weekend.
