About three-quarters of Threshermen's Park is forest. Our Forest Committee does an excellent job of keeping our forests cleared of dead wood (a fire hazard if left unchecked) and invasive plants. Much of the lumber they remove from our forest is cut in our very own sawmill during our Annual Reunion, and later used around the park for construction and repair projects. Other wood from our forests is used in our steam boilers. The Forest Committee is also responsible for planting new trees in the forests and all over the park.
