Our Shuttle Committee is in charge of, you guess it, our
shuttle wagons. Our wagons are used during our Annual Reunion
but can also be seen each year at the Southern Wisconsin AirFest,
at other clubs' events and in area parades.
The Shuttle Committee is broken down into three sub-committees:
Parking Lot, In-Grounds and VIP:
- The shuttles seen within Threshermen's Park are our In-Grounds
Shuttle Wagons. They travel standard routes starting inside the
main gate and transport spectators to our various buildings,
sights and demonstrations. They are well-known as being keen-eyed
drivers, good at missing darting or preoccupied spectators who
may cross their path. This sub-committee meets throughout the
year. Ron Reilly is the Chairman of this sub-committee; his phone
number can be found on our Committee Chairs page.
- The shuttles in the parking lots are the first seen and
utilized by our spectators at our Annual Reunion. These shuttles
move spectators from the parking lot shuttle stops to the main
entrance gate. Our Parking Lot Shuttle Wagons Sub-Committee enlists
volunteers and tractors to pull the wagons and creates standard
routes for the shuttles to ensure smooth operation. They also
move spectators from the main gate to shuttle stops in the parking
lot but often can be seen at the end of the day taking weary
spectators directly to their vehicles -- a courtesy all gratefully
acknowledge! This sub-committee meets throughout the year. Duane
"Clicker" Murwin is the Chairman of this sub-committee;
his phone number can be found on our Committee Chairs page.
- If the President of the United States were to visit our
Annual Reunion, he'd ride our VIP Shuttle Wagons. Since that's
not likely to happen, you'll see our VIP shuttle used by who
we call "very important people" -- the elderly,
disabled and anyone who may find our standard shuttles difficult
to use. (The VIP shuttle is the one with those comfortable-looking,
padded bench seats.) This sub-committee meets throughout the
year.
Dan Rynes is the Chairman of VIP Shuttle Wagons sub-committee
as well as being the head of the Shuttle Wagons Committee; his
phone number and e-mail address can be found on our Committee
Chairs page.
