(1917-2002) Member #13 Rock River Thresheree Class of 1964 BELOIT -- Glenn D. Beedy, age 84, of 1137 Elm St., Beloit, WI, died Sun., Nov. 10, 2002, in his home, surrounded by loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Glenn was born on Dec. 24, 1917, in Jay County, IN, the son of Jesse and Ester (Creamer) Beedy. He married Betty R. Arnold on Feb. 10, 1940, in Portland, IN. He was employed at Marshall Erdman Co,. Waunakee, WI, for many years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Morning Star Lodge #10 F.&A.M. Beloit, Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Valley of Freeport, and was a former member of Tebala Shrine Club, Rockford. He had been an engineer on The Nickel Plate Railroad, headquartered in Lima, OH. He was a member and past president of the Rock River Thresheree and was an honorary member of The Prairie State Railroad Club. He had also taught classes at Blackhawk Technical College. He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his family: his loving wife of 62 years, Betty; his 5 daughters: Carolyn (Terry) Pollock of Janesville, Judy (Ron) Katalin of Madison, Joan Grice (Brad Bowman), Barbara (Chuck) McKillips and Gayle Kopplin, all of Beloit; 11 grandchildren: Mike, Kelly, Lisa, Pam, Mark, Cheryl, Chuck Jr., John, Scott, Jodi and George; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Wilkinson of Portland, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant son, Michael. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thurs., Nov. 14, 2002, in the Schoenfeld Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, with the Rev. Norman Starks officiating. Burial will be in the Turtleville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic rites by Morning Star Lodge #10 F.&A.M. at 7:30 p.m. [Source: The Janesville Gazette, Tuesday, November 12, 2002] |
