Harold H. Russell, 92, of 15 E. Russell, Route 2, Janesville, died Thursday at Edgerton Hospital.

Born July 21, 1893, in Janesville Township, he married Katherine L. Wieland on Dec. 25, 1922, in Beloit. She died July 25, 1982. A longtime farmer, Russell farmed on the family homestead, which was established by his great-grandfather in 1850. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Wisconsin State Historical Society, a charter member and former treasurer of Rock River Thresheree and served many years on the Janesville Consolidated School Board.

Surviving are a son, Donald of Janesville; four daughters, Katherine Demrow and Dorothy Spry, both of Janesville, Virginia Benash of Milton and Carolyn Adams of Rio Verde, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in First Lutheran Church chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today in Overton Funeral Home.
