W. Lyle Silverthorn, 66, of Route 2, Edgerton, formerly of Footville, died Saturday, July 11, 1981, at Thresherman's Park following an apparent heart attack.

Born August 21, 1914, in Center Township, he married Bernice Nightengale on March 6, 1937, in Belvidere, Illinois. Silverthorn was employed 34 years by Fairbanks Morse and Co., from which he retired in 1977. He was president of the Rock River Thresheree Association and a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 8212.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Randy Suiter of Janesville; a son, Robert at home; four grandchildren; a brother, Donald of Evansville; and a sister, Mrs. Harold Ellis of Edgerton.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Newcomer-Silverthorn Funeral Home, Orfordville, with burial in Bethel Cemetery.
