Walter F. Anderson, 68, of Route 1, Clinton, died Friday at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 9, 1915, in Rockford, Ill., he married Beatrice Sweningson on Oct. 14, 1950, in Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church, where he was a member. He served in World War II, farmed for several years and did carpenter and repair work. He was chaplain for both the American Legion Dary-Paulsen Post 440 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10430, and belonged to the Beloit Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and the Rock River Threshermen's Association.

Surviving are his wife; three brothers, Louis of Juneau, Alaska, Howard of Addison, Ill., and Robert of Poplar Grove, Ill.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church, with burial with military rites at Jefferson Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Clinton Funeral Home.
