Theodore E. Sawle, age 103, of Hyde's Mill - Ridgeway, passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. He was born May 25, 1905, to William and Jeanette (Hodgson) Sawle, in Arena. In May of 1931, he married Roma Rachel Rockcastle. She preceded him in death in February of 1990. He then married Norma Bohn-Wilkowske in November of 1991. She preceded him in death in October of 2000.

Ted is survived by his children, Jannette Reeson of Ridgeway, Abigail Murphy of Tennessee, Theodore E. Sawle, Jr., of Ridgeway, Reginald Sawle of Ridgeway, Thomas (Betty) Sawle of Minnesota, Charlotte (Duaine) Westpfahl of Iowa, Naiad (Pat) O'Dell of Waunakee and Scott (Teri) Sawle of Richland Center; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by two step daughters, Sue (Arnold) Kaestener of Texas and Kathleen Wilkowske of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Roma; his daughter, Judith; five brothers; two sisters; his second wife, Norma; his granddaughter, Ann; his grandson, Anthony Sawle; and his great-grandchildren, Dorie and D.J.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Barneveld. The Rev. Bob Sichta officiated. Burial was held in Hyde Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Upland Hills Hospice in Dodgeville or a charity of your choice. A sincere thank you to Ingle Living Communities for the great kindness and care provided Ted.
