OREGON -- Clifford J. Riese, age 77, of 210 Park Street, Oregon, died on Friday evening, September 2, 1983, after a long illness. He was a farmer who had lived in the Oregon area for the past 34 years, retiring in 1968. He was born on August 29, 1906, in Monroe, the son of Edward and Mary Riese. He married the former Hulda E. Beer on September 19, 1929, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Oregon, the Rock River Thresheree of Edgerton and the National Farmers' Organization before his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Hulda, at home; a son, Allen Riese of Oregon; a daughter, Mary Ann Lutz of Cottage Grove; two sisters, Mrs. John Ohman of Zephyrhills, Florida, and Mrs. Robert Isley of Monroe; a brother, Edwin Riese of Muskego, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Riese; two brothers, Wilbert and Frank of Monticello; and two sisters, Mildred and Bess of Monroe. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, at 1:30 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, Oregon. Pastor Duane Bottlien will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Friends may call at the B. L. Booth Funeral Home, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
