(1932-2005) Member #79 Rock River Thresheree Class of 1971 PALMYRA -- Leonard "Len" L. Lenz, 72, of Palmyra, died on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Beloit Health and Rehabilitation in Beloit. He was born on Aug. 30, 1932, to Leon and Hartie (Lehman) Lenz, and grew up in the Beaver Dam area. Len was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He owned and operated the Citgo Station in Palmyra until he fell ill. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson and the Rock River Thresheree and Palmyra American Legion Post 304. Len enjoyed tractor shows, collecting, gardening, travels, friends and family. He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy (Barry) Bickle and Gloria Lenz; six grandchildren, Todd, Mindy, Elliott and Andrew Bickle, and Leonard and Sara Matoush; a brother, David (Ethel) Lenz; cousins; nieces, nephews; and good friend, Phyllis. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sheila; and two infant children, Ralph and Susan. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Mealy's Funeral Home, 320 W. Main St., in Palmyra, with the Rev. Ethan Steinbrenner officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Palmyra. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to the Rock River Thresheree would be appreciated.
