JANESVILLE -- Genevieve F. Lux, age 89, died Sat., June 23, 2001, at the Haven House, Janesville. She was born on Dec. 23, 1911, in Fort Atkinson, the daughter of the late Alonzo and Luella Messmer Nelson. She was a graduate of the Fort Atkinson High School. Genevieve married Bernard M. Lux of Janesville on Oct. 14, 1940, in Iowa; he died on Jan. 28, 1998. They had been Janesville residents until 1962, when they moved to Fort Atkinson, returning to Janesville in 1994. She also recently had been in Stoughton for a short time. She was a member of the Rock River Thresheree and a former 4-H leader.

Survivors include a son, Donald (Janet) of Janesville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Rana; and 9 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues., June 26, 2001, at the Dunlap Memorial Home, Fort Atkinson, with the Rev. Gaylor Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the memorial home until the time of service. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care, Inc., Janesville.
