Carl H. Jacobs, 89, 2024 Temperance Trail, Darien, died Monday at Encore Senior Villa, Beloit. Arrangements are pending at the Betzer Funeral Home, Delavan.

DARIEN -- Carl Henry Jacobs, age 89, of 2021 Temperance Trail Rd., died Mon., Feb. 22, at Encore Senior Villa, Beloit. Carl was born Dec. 21, 1908, in Darien Township, the son of Charles and Lottie (Huber) Jacobs. Carl married Bercia Jensen Mar. 14, 1931, in Woodstock, IL. Bercia predeceased him Aug. 11, 1990. Carl was former owner and operator of Jacobs Sand and Gravel. He was a member of Rock River Thresheree and was a Friend of the Darien United Methodist Church. Carl is survived by 5 daughters: Carol Kolberg of Janesville, Norma (Fred) Weber of Janesville, Phyllis (Phil) Putman of Allens Grove, Betty (Gordon) Putman of Clinton, and Marcia (Alan) Quade of Candler, NC; 2 sons, Richard (Mary) Jacobs of Beaver Dam and Dennis (Joyce) Jacobs of Allens Grove; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a son, Robert; a brother, Raymond, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sat., Feb. 27 at the Darien United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joan Frost officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Philip Cemetery, Allens Grove. Friends may call Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Betzer Funeral Home in Delavan.
