EDGERTON -- Mrs. Bernice D. Silverthorn, 67, of Route 2, died today in Methodist Hospital, Madison, after a long illness.

Born Jan. 17, 1914, in Rock County, the former Bernice Nightengale married William Silverthorn on March 6, 1937, in Belvidere, Ill. He died on July 11, 1981.

Mrs. Silverthorn and her husband were caretakers for Thresherman's Park and members of the Rock River Thresheree Association.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Randy Suiter of Janesville; a son, Robert of Edgerton; five grandchildren; her mother, Elsie Nightengale of Janesville; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Calvin of Brodhead and Mrs. George Butler of Janesville; and a brother, Melvin Nightengale of Janesville.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Newcomer-Silverthorn Funeral Home, Orfordville. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, town of Center. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
