PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- Wilbur D. Shepherd, 73, of rural Platteville, died Thursday evening, May 28, 1992, at Southwest Health Center hospital, Platteville.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bonin-Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, where friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Platteville.

Mr. Shepherd owned and operated Shepherd Pepsi-Cola Distribution in Platteville for 28 years before his retirement in 1983.

He was born July 17, 1918, in Platteville, son of Walter and Alma (Dean) Shepherd. He married Helen Warne on Feb. 14, 1940, in Livingston; she survives.

He was a member of the Rock River Thresheree and was a board member for four years.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Norma) Mellon of Dubuque and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Brown of Verona; a son, Walter (and Mary) of Beloit; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Thelma) Gerardy of Livingston; a brother, Everett (and Eileen) of Hazel Green; and a cousin, David Dean of Janesville, who lived with them.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.
