Martin H. Koenig, 80, of 215 Harrison St., North Fond du Lac, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at St. Agnes Hospital.

He was born the son of Henry and Hattie Strean Koenig on Oct. 7, 1922, in Wheaton, Minn.

Martin married Vera E. McCartney on Dec. 21, 1946, in Waukegan, Ill.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps European Theatre. He was a truck driver for 15 years. Martin was a business agent for Teamsters Local 126, from which he retired in 1976. He was a member of Church of Our Savior Ev. Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, bowling and was an avid fishing guide on Lake Winnebago and Lake Michigan. He also enjoyed playing sheepshead.

Martin is survived by his wife, Vera, of North Fond du Lac; two sons, Kenneth M. (Sharon) Koenig of Van Dyne, and Robert M. (Karen) Koenig of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Walter McCartney of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Helene Kocher of West Bend, and Jane Koenig of Fort Wayne, Ind.; special niece, Kim Repp of Eden; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bernard (Marjorie) Gulden of Green Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold; two brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The Rev. Duane C. Wisner will officiate. Cremation will follow the services.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the hour of services on Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established.
