(1919-2007) Member #341 Rock River Thresheree Class of 1998 Ken passed on to a world where there is no pain, on Sunday, November 25, 2007. He was born May 14, 1919 to Alex and Orpha (Coon) Hamilton. He was a Janesville resident his entire life, excluding a stint in the Army during World War II. He married Priscilla M. Prey on August 8, 1942. In his younger years, he built and raced stock cars. His love of horses took him to be the president of the Golden Valley Riders in the 1960's. When Ken rode a horse or a snowmobile, they both had to go as fast as possible. He could do anything that he set his mind to do. He was an expert carpenter, electrician, plumber and mechanic, and passed those skills on to his three sons. He made sure that his daughter could ride a horse and drive anything with wheels. He also had a unique sense of humor which, sadly, he also passed on to all four of his kids. Ken retired from General Motors in 1982. He was a member of the UAW local 95 as well as the Rock River Thresheree. He loved old time country music, and danced with Priscilla up until the time that his legs could no longer take it. He was a great harmonica player and often accompanied the family band. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Priscilla; four children: Bill Hamilton of Milton, Tom (Kathy Jackson) Hamilton of Milton, Pam (Bill) Finster of Milton and Bob Hamilton of Janesville; 9 grandchildren: Carrie, Angie, Ryan, Deirdre and Teresa Hamilton, Mike Repta, Nichole Roberts, Ron and Patrick Finster; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rock Haven, for the expert and kind care given to our husband, Dad and Grandpa. You are second to none. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Patrick Schultz of Milton United Methodist Church officiating. The Hamilton family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home (608-741-1713).
