Moore Maltpress (1913-2002) Member #348 Rock River Thresheree Class of 1998 JANESVILLE -- Moore Maltpress, age 88, of 8423 East County Rd. A, died on Fri., Sept. 6, 2002, at Meadow Park Health Care, Clinton. He was born on Sept. 25, 1913 in Edgerton, the son of William B. and Ivah I. (Moore) Maltpress. He graduated from Milton High School in 1932. He married Evelyn Wagner in 1962. Moore farmed almost 70 years, ran his sawmill for nearly 50 years, and drove milk truck for over 35 years. He enjoyed being part of the Rock River Thresheree and attended every year from 1955 to 2001. He was a member of the Grange for 69 years. Moore enjoyed playing clarinet, listening to music, dancing, swimming, water skiing, bowling, and roller skating. Moore was involved with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoying being part of the main events in their lives. Moore was a good neighbor and friend and enjoyed talking about farming, tractors, and days gone by. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his daughter Janet (Tom) Sveum of Janesville; 3 grandchildren: Tom Sveum, Warren (Elsie) Sveum, and Angie Sveum; 5 great-grandchildren: Chris Scott, Aaron Scott, Laura Scott, Gwendolyn Sveum, and Timothy Sveum. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy J. Sveum, in 1996. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 12, 2002, at the Albrecht Funeral Home, Hwy. 26, Milton, with visitation from 12 until 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Milton Laws Memorial Park, Janesville.
