Theodore "Ted" Oxtoby (1931-2006) Member #398 Rock River Thresheree Class of 1999 Theodore R. "Ted" Oxtoby, 74, Genoa City, died Wednesday Jan. 25, 2006 at Memorial Hospital, Burlington. He was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Harvard, Ill. the son of Theodore and Hazel (Bliss) Oxtoby. He was married to Marjorie Kautz on March 26, 1951, in Woodstock, Ill. He was a self-employed siding contractor for over 40 years in the stateline area, retiring in 2002. A veteran of Korea, he served as a corporal in the U.S. Army from December 1950 to November 1953 in the tank division in Germany. He attended the Rock River Thresheree for almost his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and antique cars. Survivors include his wife Marjorie, four daughters Sandra (Wayne) Bretl, Lake Geneva, Nancy (Steven) Cooper, Pell Lake, Kathleen Oxtoby, Pell Lake, Marcia (Tim) Blimberg, Lake Geneva; three sons, James (Carol) Oxtoby, Mark (Kim) Oxtoby and John (friend Cindy) Oxtoby, all of Pell Lake, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Margie Amico, Woodstock, Ill. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Oxtoby. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home in Richmond.
