Donald L. Bragg, age 62, of Platteville, died on Sunday, July 8, 2001, at his residence.

He was born on July 27, 1938, in Council Bluffs, Ia., the son of Donald and Martha (Lewis) Bragg. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, Council Bluffs, in 1956, and attended the University of Omaha. Bragg was united in marriage to B. Lynn Lowis on Apr. 21, 1961, in Kalamazoo, Mich. He worked for John Deere for 26 years, retiring in 1992. Since his retirement he has been working at the Platteville Golf Course and Rural Excavating. He was a member of the Platteville volunteer fire department for 20 years, where he was fireman of the year in 1994. He served as secretary/treasurer of the International Association of Arson Investigators, Wisconsin Chapter 25. He was a board member of John Deere Interplant Bowling Assoc. since 1967, and was exalted ruler of the Elks in 1997. He also served on the Platteville city council.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn, of Platteville; six children: Robin (Gary) Richter of Platteville, John (Leta) Bragg of Cambridge, Ron (Cathy) Bragg of Reno, Nev., Joanne (Steve) LaBudde of Freeport, Ill., Shelly (Chris) Knebel of Belmont, Sue (Paul) Lynch of Platteville; eight grandchildren; his mother, Martha Bragg of Ham Lake, Minn.; and two brothers, Richard (Maggie) Bragg of Ham Lake, Minn., and Robert (Denise) Bragg of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and a sister, JoAnn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, or from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Donald L. Bragg.
