MADISON - Donald A. Felland, age 79, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, peacefully after a courageous battle with diabetes. Don was born the son of Allen and Ina (Noll) Felland. Don spent his youth working on the family farm and later began working as a radiator repairman. Don married the love of his life, Bonnie. Three children blessed this marriage, Jess, Gale "Petey" and Jerry. Don opened and ran Badger Radiator from 1960 until his death. Don and Bonnie enjoyed many weekends at their summer home in Catawba. Don also enjoyed showing his antique tractors in various steam engine shows in the area. Don's joy in recent years was watching his grandchildren grow, achieve and begin their families. He was so very proud of them! He was also very proud of his Norwegian heritage, being able to trace his family tree to Telemark, Norway. Don was a lifetime member of the NRA, the Badger Steam and Gas Organization, Rock River Thresheree and the Sons of Norway.

Survivors include a son, Jesse (Shirley) Felland of Columbus; daughter, Gale "Petey" (Kenneth) Taylor of Pardeeville; four grandchildren, Mark (Jennifer) Taylor of Pardeeville, Jon (Donna) Taylor of Portage, Becky Lou Taylor of Pardeeville and Katie (Matthew) Bodie of Windsor; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander James Bodie and Willem Donald Taylor. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, on March 10, 2002; a son, Jerry; grandson, Luke Taylor; his parents; a brother, Jerry; and a sister, Mildred Droster.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME, where friends may call from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Dennis Weis will officiate and burial will follow in Burke Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Burke Lutheran Church or American Diabetes Association, 8030 Excelsior Drive, Madison, WI 53717.
