Howard Henry Wade (1909-2001) Not a member of Rock River Thresheree RICHMOND -- Howard Henry Wade, 92, died Wed., June 13, 2001, at Fairhaven Retirement Community in Whitewater. He was born at home March 12, 1909, the son of Frank William and Myrta (Acker) Wade. Howard graduated from Whitewater High School in 1929. Howard married Dorothy Lucille Hunt on June 14, 1938, in Lima. He attended Richmond United Methodist Church. Howard, along with his family, farmed all of his life. He loved the land and took great pride and pleasure in all aspects of rural life. Howard and brother, Harlan, were avid steam enthusiasts. They participated in the Walworth Co. Fair and the Rock River Thresheree for many years. Howard was a loving husband to Dorothy; a loving father to Ronald (Suzan); a loving brother to Harlan; a loving grandfather to Steven (Mindy) and Lynn; a loving father-in-law to Janis (Peterson) Wade, and her family, mother Grace Peterson and brother, Larry Peterson; and a loving friend to many. Howard was preceded in death by his mother and father; his sisters, Martha Wade and Annabelle (Wade) Hunt. They were a close group and shared many happy years together. Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church in LaGrange between 1 and 3 p.m. on Sat., June 16, 2001. The funeral service will follow the visitation. Burial will be in Richmodn Cemetery after the service. Memorial gifts may be given to the Richmond Methodist Church. Skindingsrude Funeral Home is assisting the family. He was loved by many friends, neighbors and family. We will miss his wisdom and witty perspectives on a long life well lived.
