(1970-2008) Not a member of Rock River Thresheree Steven Lewis Furgason, 38, passed away in his home on Wednesday, June 4, 2008. He was born on Feb. 14, 1970, in Beloit, the son of Ann (Furgason) Hegge and the late John H. Furgason. Steve married Patricia J. Lockwood on July 17, 1993, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Footville. He graduated from Parkview High School in Orfordville in 1988. He was a welder by trade, a skill he learned from his father. He attended Blackhawk Technical College in 1995 and obtained his welding certificate. He was employed by Gilman Engineering from 1995 to 2004. In 2006 he became a journeyman millwright and was a member of Millwright's Local 1056. Steve loved riding his Harley Davidson. He loved to "tinker" on projects, especially in the workshop, that he built with his friends. He loved his dogs, Harley and Dakota. He loved our horses, Stu & Oreo. Most of all he loved his life and his wife, Trish, with all his heart and mind and soul. A life that included a rich supply of family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Orfordville; son, Jacob Crittenden at home; mother, Ann (Mel) Hegge of Rockton, IL; twin brother, Robert Furgason (friend, Jeanne Hazeltine) of Janesville; brothers, Michael (Jane) Furgason of Edgerton and John (Joetta) Furgason of Jefferson; sisters, Vickie Weber of Beloit and Lisa (Jerry) Nicks of Gilbert; mother-in-law, Kathryn Lockwood of Janesville; and additional relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Furgason; father-in-law, Lawrence Lockwood; and his beloved dog, Harley. Funeral services will be held at Newcomer-Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill, Hwy. 11 and South Coon Island Road, Orfordville, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008, with Pastor Wendy Slaback officiating. A visitation will be held at Newcomer-Silverthorn Chapel on the Hill, Orfordville, on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from noon until the time of service.
